Welcome to Children's Ministry!

The Children's Ministry at Auburn Baptist Church is a group of people who are passionate about reaching the next generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a fun and safe environment. We have a Preschool Ministry that serves bed babies through PreK 4 year-olds and a Kids Ministry that serves Kindergarten through 5th graders. Scroll down to find out about who we are, what we do, and how you and your family can get involved in what God is doing in the ABC Children's Ministry!

What We do

Every week we want the kids who come to our church to have lots of fun. We play games, sing songs, and get silly, but our primary purpose is to make disciples. In his letter to the church at Ephesus, the apostle Paul says that the church is designed to "equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

So in all of the activities in our Children's Ministry, we focus on these 5 things:

  • Gospel

Communicating clearly, simply, and repeatedly that salvation comes

by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

  • scripture

Teaching children the full counsel of Scripture in ways that are relevant to their experience and development.

  • Family

Equipping parents and families to be the primary investors in their child's spiritual development.

  • Community

Helping kids develop true Christian community with their peers

    and adults.

  • Mission

Instilling in kids a sense of their role in God's global mission

    for the Gospel.

Preschool Ministry

Our Preschool Ministry strives to provide our youngest children with a safe, loving and nurturing environment where each child feels special. Led by Ruth Stanford and Shelby Howell, this ministry is guided by the value that Jesus placed on children when he said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these" Matt. 19:14

Our Ministry is split into three general areas.  Our bed babies' room is a safe, clean area to rest or play. We like to keep our adult to baby ratio at or below 1:2 so that each child receives the attention they deserve.

Once they begin to walk, children will move to the Toddler room. Here there are plenty of play areas to keep kids engaged and active. Familiar faces will greet these children every week to help them feel at home with us.

For our 3 and 4 year-olds, we provide a more structured environment.  In Children's Church we lay foundations for their spiritual development, teaching

them about Jesus through games, singing, and crafts with plenty of time for free play and a snack. On Wednesday nights our oldest preschoolers are walking through The Gospel Project which will introduce them to the characters, truths, and themes of the whole Bible.

The kids start in the regular service, but after the children's sermon we head to the FLC

for a special Bible lesson.
