Local & Global Missions

How Auburn is impacting the world; at home and abroad.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

This is the final command that Jesus gave his disciples before ascending into heaven. Much of the world, even today, has never heard of Jesus or His sacrifice on the cross. Without knowing the Good News, this world is lost and without hope, for it is only through faith in Christ that a person is saved. Jesus has commanded his followers to go out into the world, both near and far, in order to teach the Gospel.

At Auburn Baptist Church, we realize that God could have used any method to spread the Gospel around the world, but we consider ourselves blessed and honored that He has chosen to use His people to accomplish this task. Our desire is to minister to people’s spiritual and physical needs while spreading the Gospel. This has led us to both local and foreign mission sites, but at all sites and in all situations, we wish to demonstrate to people God’s love.

We are currently in a partnership with the Turners, a missionary family in Costa Rica.  Their ministry, Taller Del Maestro, is a Christian camp & training center built to minister to the churches and individuals of Costa Rica.  We have sent several types of teams to Costa Rica to assist the Turners such as pastoral training, evangelism, and construction.  If you are considering serving on a mission trip, contact Ryan Sewell, our Missions Team leader.
