Ministry Village

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

This is the final command that Jesus gave his disciples before ascending into heaven. Much of the world, even today, has never heard of Jesus or His sacrifice on the cross. Without knowing the Good News, this world is lost and without hope, for it is only through faith in Christ that a person is saved. Jesus has commanded his followers to go out into the world, both near and far, in order to teach the Gospel.

At Auburn Baptist Church, we realize that God could have used any method to spread the Gospel around the world, but we consider ourselves blessed and honored that He has chosen to use His people to accomplish this task. Our desire is to minister to people’s spiritual and physical needs while spreading the Gospel. This has led us to both local and foreign mission sites, but at all sites and in all situations, we wish to demonstrate to people God’s love.

Mooreville Schools

At Auburn Baptist, most of our children and youth attend Mooreville Schools. We also have many members who are faculty and staff with the schools. We love being able to pour into our local school and provide assistance in any way that we can. Our partnership with Mooreville schools is an excellent opportunity for us to serve and love on our community and show Christ to them!

Beds for Kids

Beds for kids is a non-profit ministry started by several retired medical professionals in Tupelo who became aware of a need for beds for children in northeast Mississippi. They have built over 400 twin beds for kids since their beginning in mid 2019.

Auburn Baptist Church Missions Team was working with Beds for Kids in the spring of 2020 to organize a workday for some Auburn teams. Covid interfered with that, but the Missions Team continues to support the Bed For Kids program with needs such as a baby crib, bedding, with some occasional labor help.

Blessing Bags

We are blessed to be able to partner with Mooreville Elementary school to be able to provide Blessing Bags to children in need. Each Thursday, we deliver bags of food for children to be able to have over the weekend. For many children, the only meal they get is while they are at school, so many will not eat a meal between lunch Friday and breakfast Monday morning. We are thankful that we are able to help bridge this gap and love on our community in this way.
